2019 Scholars at Work Conference

March 29, 2019

Full- and part-time faculty at Minnesota State University, Mankato are invited to participate in the second Scholars at Work Conference on Friday, March 29, 2019.

Expanding on this year’s message of “Thriving in an Era of Disruption,” the theme of the 2019 conference is Disruption and Innovation, Failure and Success. We want to learn about innovations and creative solutions to problems you have encountered in your classroom, in your research or creative activity, in your discipline, or in your community. And we understand that the road to success is paved with failure, so we want to learn about that, too. What lessons have you learned that could help others? Where did you find examples or inspiration? What theory or research guided you on the path you are currently following? Help us learn more about what you do and how it is part of the vibrant tapestry of the university.

Submit a 300-500 word proposal for a presentation or poster at http://tiny.cc/ScholarsAtWork Graduate students may present with their faculty advisers in presentations or solo in the poster session.

Faculty and graduate students are also encouraged to submit a 1000-1500-word paper to the conference proceedings, which will be hosted in the Cornerstone Archive. For questions about the proceedings, contact Carrie Miller (carrie.miller@mnsu.edu).

The conference is free, but registration is required to ensure we have enough space to accommodate attendees and to send updates about the schedule as needed.

The Scholars at Work Conference is sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, The Center for Excellence in Scholarship and Research, IT Solutions, and Library Services. The conference co-chairs are Dan Houlihan (CESR), Carrie Miller (ATS), Jennifer Veltsos (CETL), Heidi Southworth (Library Services), and Mark McCullough (Library Services).
